Mountain Goat, the original Lake District minibus company and award-winning tour specialist, is hosting its first open Recruitment Day for aspiring professionals looking to join its growing team.
The open event will take place on Sunday, November 9, from 10am till 2pm at the Mountain Goat Garage, Chestnut Road, Windermere, LA23 2AL.
The day is a perfect opportunity for local job seekers to meet the management team, learn about the company’s crucial role in Lake District tourism, and discover a variety of available positions.
Mountain Goat, renowned for safely navigating the region’s narrow roads and high passes since 1972, is looking to fill several key roles, including positions for both experienced drivers and those starting a new career path.
Roles currently on offer include:
- Trainee Driver-Guide (full training provided, no current license required)
- Driver-Guide (with a D/D1 license)
- Home-to-School Contract Driver (with D/D1 license)
- Driver (with or without a license)
- Travel Consultant
- Yard Supervisor
The company offers a range of working arrangements, including casual and fixed term contracts, and various shift patterns, providing flexibility for different lifestyles.

Attendees can experience a short, scenic taster tour up to Kirkstone Pass with an existing driver-guide, and members of the management team will be available throughout the day for one-on-one conversations about the roles.
