Congratulations to our lovely member Cragwood Country House Hotel! Last week the kitchen staff celebrated their latest award, a coveted second AA rosette.

Already the holder of one rosette, Hotel Manager, Albert Waldon said, “gaining a second rosette is a major achievement for Head Chef, Calvin Harrison and the kitchen team and it’s a testament to their dedication, passion and culinary skill. We are all thrilled for them. Calvin is a very driven, ambitious Chef and I’m sure his sights are already fixed on achieving a third Rosette”.

AA Rosettes are awarded solely by AA Hotel and Restaurant Inspectors and are in recognition of culinary excellence and cooking at different levels nationwide. The AA Inspector praised Calvin and the team for their hard work in creating a seasonal menu which is nicely balanced and cooked to perfection.

The two AA Rosettes award also recognises the exceptional service in the hotel. Albert Waldon also went on to say “We pride ourselves on our warm hospitality, we want our guests to really get to know our team and feel like part of the family. Everyone works extremely hard to meet and exceed our guests expectations throughout their stay and this award recognises all that effort".

Cragwood Country House joins an elite selection of restaurants across the UK to hold the coveted double AA rosette status. This latest award also comes hot off the heels of Cragwood retaining first place for its beautiful gardens, winning the Bob Long Trophy- Ambleside and Lakes Parish in Bloom 2018 for hotels over 10 bedrooms.
