Dreamy Lake District Restaurants with a View

“Tourists from all over the world visit the Lake District National Park for its spectacular scenery, wildlife, history and culture”

It is well known that the breathtaking views of the Lake District is the primary reason why 16 million tourists visit each year. With this in mind, and knowing that while on holiday many of us treat ourselves to a restaurant meal or two we have collated a few of the best dining experiences with a spectacular view, here in the Lake District.

Netherwood Hotel

Situated in Grange-Over-Sands,The Netherwood Hotel is a beautiful Grade II listed Victorian mansion which has breathtaking views across Morecambe Bay. The gorgeous restaurant in particular is a fantastic spot to dine and soak up the scenery. The Netherwood take great pride in using premium local produce in their dishes, we fancy the Seared Seabass served with cauliflower, lakes pancetta, leek risotto and crisp capers. An ideal dish to enjoy with a sea view don’t you think?

Hillthwaite House Hotel

This fantastic hotel is atop a hill in Windermere, with wonderful views of the town, the lake and fells beyond. The recently refurbished boutique property is sure to add a touch of indulgence to your dining experience. The relaxed, contemporary restaurant and poets bar offers home-cooked Lakeland food using fresh Cumbrian produce. You can sit back and relax in the comfortable chairs and admire the picture perfect window views. The menu here is extensive with plenty to choose from no matter what your preference. We fancied the slow cooked beef brisket served with red wine jus, spring greens and mashed potato. Yum!

Damson Dene Hotel

Another fabulous spot to consider is the Damson Dene Hotel, tucked away in the tranquil Lyth Valley this hotel is a great place to ‘escape’ and enjoy a romantic meal. The Heron View restaurant at the hotel overlooks the beautiful gardens, pond and fields and fells beyond. The menu changes daily and offers a wider variety of dishes. The team use locally grown fresh, seasonal fruit, vegetables and herbs. One dish that caught our eye was the vegetable strudel, tomato confit served with buttered savoy cabbage.
