We would like to say a huge congratulations to our lovely member Rusland Pool Hotel who recently experienced great success at the National FreeFrom Eating Out Awards in London.

The owners of the family business, Michael and Rachel Pound made the trip down to the capital earlier this year. Hopeful and excited, the couple had little time to dwell on the upcoming award ceremony results. They were absorbed by the pace of the city - which is of course, in stark contrast to the snow capped mountains and fells of the Lake District!

The FreeFrom Eating Out Awards were held in the huge impressive ExCel Exhibition Centre in East London. Approaching their seats, accompanied by hundreds of other guests, nerves began to kick in for the rural Hoteliers.

The Rusland Pool Hotel left with four gold awards in four categories: independant and pub restaurants, cafes and teashops, B&B and guest houses and one for food manufactured for service, with their utterly delicious sticky toffee pudding. You couldn’t really get a dessert more fitting for a Lake District Hotel could you?

If that wasn’t enough, the establishment were also marked out for their dairy free and gluten free offering. So, if you have dietary requirements and are planning to visit the area, the Rusland Pool Hotel is certainly the one for you!
