Last week we were lucky enough to be invited to our lovely member The Wordsworth Hotel and Spa’s Ytsara Spa Launch. The small but perfectly formed Spa accommodates an indoor swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi. They offer an extensive range of treatments that now include Ytsara therapies and products.
Upon arrival we were welcomed into the stunning Colderige function suite with a glass of bubbly and the most delicious canapes. The table’s were beautifully set and at the end of the room was a massage table with a display of Ytsara products.
After chatting to the other guests we took our seats to listen to the representatives from Ytsara tell us about their exclusive products and treatments, it was interesting to hear how ethical the brand is and that all the products are vegan and 100% natural, as well as being produced with ‘living’ water, which is much purer at a molecular level, than the usual processed water used in the manufacturing of most similar goods, rich in ‘life force’ energy and helping to hydrate the skin at a deeper level. The core values of the brand were clear, to take care of yourself through personal wellness choices, using natural products, professional treatments and holistic therapies.
Several products were passed around the room for us to try, and they all had a gorgeous refreshing scent. Firstly we tried the Aqua Massage Masque, a product full of moisture and really refreshing for your skin. Our favourite product had to be the Ultimate Shield Serum, developed to protect skin from the damaging effects of pollution, sun and stress. It felt so luxurious on the skin!
Following the product demonstrations, we got to see first hand, how some of Ytsara’s unique massage therapies are practiced. Ytsara have travelled the world to discover exotic, ancient and effective treatments for the mind and body, and I have to say we had never seen anything like it before! It was a truly fascinating experience.
First was the Tok Sen massage demonstration, this Thai deep pressure massage is applied using a wooden tool that creates vibrations through the body working deep into the muscle. It looked so relaxing and is said to offer instant muscle pressure release! We also got to experience the hot poultice massage, a remedy to restore aches and pains that dates back to the 14th Century, the warm bamboo massage and the ultra calming Jade Stone facial, which has been practiced in China for more than 25 centuries.
All of these massages looked purely therapeutic and calming. After the demonstrations we were kindly offered to experience a Thai full body massage ourselves, and of course, we jumped at the chance! We were so relaxed following our treatment that the offer of Thai afternoon tea on return to the function suite was just what we needed to perk ourselves up!
The Thai afternoon tea was utterly delicious, and a great twist on the traditional English classic. We got to indulge in a variety of miniature treats including vegetable spring rolls, calamari, mango scones served with lemon curd, and not forgetting the fruit and coconut posset!
We had a wonderful afternoon and will certainly be returning to experience the full range of treatments offered in The Wordsworth Hotel’s new Ytsara Spa.
