What's on this Autumn?

Ah, Autumn. The time of year where the trees turn orange, jack-o-lanterns decorate porches, and everyone is holding a breathe waiting for Christmas. But, why wait for Winter to enjoy yourself when you can enjoy all that Autumn has to offer right now?

The Museum of Lakeland Life & Industry is hosting a special event as part of their LGBT+ Within and Beyond display. Join them on the 19th October at 12pm to enjoy entertainment, discussion, and celebration. It’s a place for LGBT+ folk and allies to share their personal stories, enlighten open minds, and explore the experiences of other LGBT+ people.

Sharing isn’t compulsory, so if you would prefer to just listen, that’s fine. There’s a range of theatrical events on throughout the day, including a processional lead up to the LGBT+ display and an immersive interactive micro theatre performance.

No Autumn to-do list is complete without mentioning the spookiest time of year. Halloween will soon be upon us and there’s fun to be had for the whole family at one of England’s most haunted locations, Muncaster Castle.

Join them from the 25th October - 2nd November to explore the ghostly grotto, scary maze, and witness the Muncaster Monster Cabaret! Tickets start at £6.50, with the ability to book a tour of the haunted castle itself. Under 5s go free. Please note, a torch is recommended to ward off the ghouls.

Want something with less spooky happenings? Visit Blackwell Arts Centre for the Autumn Craft Fair. Hosted on 16th/17th November 10am - 4pm, you’ll be able to find bespoke gifts, hand-crafted items, and meet the artists behind them.

Peruse what they have to offer and perhaps you’ll discover some unique Christmas gifts for your loved ones. Plus, every purchase you make supports a local, independent artist. What’s not to love?
