If you haven’t, then it’s definitely time to clear a day or two in your diary, pack your bags and join us for the festive season. While the Lake District is marvellous in the summer, it is positively MAGICAL at Christmas
There’s so much to do or see – whether you’re looking for a romantic escape, a family trip or a reunion with old friends –come rain or shine, snow or frost, we’ve got you covered this December.
If you think of yourself as a bit of a culture vulture and love nothing more than exploring the arts and heritage in a new area you haven’t visited before, you’ll be in your element in the Lakes. Our favourites include Blackwell, a beautiful example of an Arts and Crafts house in a stunning location where you can explore the Arts and Crafts movement through a variety of objects and displays, and discover what life was like at Blackwell during its years as a school. There’s also Sizergh Castle, Holker Hall, Levens Hall and Abbot Hall Gallery, as well as Dove Cottage and The Wordsworth Museum in Grasmere.
If however, you’re looking for something a little bit adventurous, there are plenty of activities to choose from. The Honister Slate Mine could be top of your list, or you might like to enjoy a cruise on Windermere with Windermere Lake Cruises – England’s sixth most popular ‘paid for’ visitor attraction with almost 1.5million passenger journeys every year.
Or if you fancy seeing the Lake District in all its glory, the National Trust has put together a great list of walks here that would be perfect for a wonderful winter stroll.
Our Christmas present to you is that you can download vouchers for discounts and offers on the attractions above (apart from the walks of course!). Simply click here to download your voucher book filled with ‘Real Exclusives’ and start planning your winter adventure in the Lake District!
