The Hotel was designed and built in 1871 by the renowned architect Octavius Hansard, At one time the estate covered an extensive acreage and was planned to be completely self sufficient with Walled Gardens, Greenhouses, a Dairy and Stabling.
The House was converted into a Hotel in the late 1940’s and has gone from strength to strength. The current owners Mike and Angela Dunbobbin bought the Hotel in 2000 and have invested heavily over the years leading to many Hospitality and Environmental awards and it is currently one of only a handful Carbon Neutral Hotels in the country.
