Tucked away in the beautiful Lyth Valley, the Damson Dene Hotel is one of the best places for a short break. The friendly staff, great leisure and spa facilities and gorgeous grub keep guests coming back year after year.
The hotel takes its name from the famous damson orchards of the area. In a good year the profusion of white damson blossom in the spring attracts much attention making the annual Damson Day festival even more of a pull.
Our tranquil location is ideal for those wanting a break away from it all but if you do want to get out and explore we are not far from the bustle of Bowness and Lake Windermere with all its visitor attractions, restaurants and cafes.
The hotel has 40 bedrooms, a large private car park and a beautifully landscaped garden featuring a large duck pond. We are very glad to welcome dogs to stay with us as well as their ‘well behaved’ owners; the Lake District is renowned for its walks so it would be a shame to have to leave your best friend at home! Although not permitted in the restaurant, dogs can accompany their owners in the bar which is well stocked with local ales and has an extensive menu.
Hotel manager Wayne is always on-hand with a witty quip or two and plenty of local knowledge and suggestions for a good day out. You can find newspapers and Lakeland walking mags in the spacious lounge that provides a lovely area to chat to new friends whilst relaxing on one of the comfy couches next to the roaring log fire. Altogether a great choice for your relaxing break away.
We hope to see you soon!
