Lindeth Howe nestles on a hillside overlooking Lake Windermere, and yet is only a mile from the bustling Lake District village of Bowness on Windermere. It is set in 6 acres of sweeping gardens, with breath-taking views of the English countryside and a wonderful sun terrace. It has over 30 spacious, luxury bedrooms and suites, which all have their own individual style and views. This beautiful property is the perfect escape to enjoy the English Lake District at any time of year.
Lindeth Howe is a country house hotel with a unique history, being the only hotel once owned by Beatrix Potter. Beatrix Potter enjoyed many holidays at Lindeth Howe and whilst staying here she was inspired to write and illustrate two of her books, Timmy Tiptoes in 1911 and Pigling Bland in 1913.
Our 2AA Rosette restaurant overlooks the gardens, providing an ever-changing vista, as you enjoy our award-winning cuisine during breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Our cosy lounges overlooking the gardens give you a peaceful view as you enjoy afternoon tea, tasty snacks or coffee & biscuits. These relaxing lounges provide a comfortable and snug retreat, even on the rainiest of days in front of the log fire.
Lindeth Howe has ample free on site car parking, electric car charging points, 3 dog friendly rooms and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout.
